Fresh after introducing you to great new British label that is due to launch for Aw10, it is time to acquaint you with yet another... step forward, A Minute Silence. AMS is a creative collaboration that was just waiting to happen between two good friends, the artist Danny Sangra and Style Salvage's favourite knitwear designer, Lynn Cockburn (aka Lynnda Needles). I'm not really one to name drop but between the two of them they have worked Louis Vuitton, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Wintle, Carolyn Massey (I have enthused many times about the quality of Massey's knits and accessories) and Von Sono. Their colourful, progressive debut capsule knitwear collection will officially launch at London Fashion Week but we have been afforded a sneak preview of the AW10 look book...
With the quality of knits being of the utmost importance, the collection is produced by the British heritage knitwear company Corgi. Each item is knitted in Wales on traditional domestic or dubied knit machines. Each piece is then lovingly finished by hand. In addition to being striking and colourful these knitted creations are investment pieces which showcase age old craftsmanship. Each purchase comes wrapped with care in a hand made tyvek bag, along with an original piece of artwork making you feel very special indeed.
There is currently a blizzard sweeping past my window and a huge part of me wishes that I was wrapped up in the above cardigan and dancing around the flat with the collections accompanying film...
