Mischa's Yellow Dream Of A Dress

I looooove this dress to bits. Teeny tiny bits. Bits so small, they aren't even possible to see (Okay, I think you've got it by now :p) Just wanted to post this photo of Mischa Barton in that dream of a yellow dress, so you all could, I don't know, maybe drool over it?! Well, that's what I did anyway... ;)

I have seen a few pictures of Mischa and her style lately, and I have to say that I am mighty impressed! I am definitely a big fan of some of the things she has worn!

Well, I'll leave you know by saying how much I looooove this dress, and I think it'll be in my head for days and days...and days!!

Sienna; The "Bummer"

On Monday night; the night of the premiere of Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly, the Metropolitan Opera was filled with stars. Everyone from Sir Sean Connery to Susan Sarandon to Liv Tyler attended, and even the luvvy duvvy couple, Sienna Miller and Jude Law, had the time to pop by.

At one point in the evening, Sienna went up to a reporter, and asked: "Can I be really annoying and bum a smoke? I'm from London. We're not used to this 'no smoking' thing!"

Well, she's definitely my kind of girl ;-p

Stuff I'm Falling For This Fall

Sorry it's a been awhile, y'all. As you well know, aside from sorting through a potential move to London (good enough for Kate, good enough for me, I say!) I've been in the hospital with a "fractured" "wrist." Fortunately, they've replaced my septum, I mean... set my wrist, and all is well in T.Loland. Let's get right to it!

First, dig the raddest shoes I've ever seen on one server at Sniff -- a suuuuper sweet-ass shoe boutique in London.
(Apprx $244 USD, Mishka, Sniff.co.uk)
Too bad if you don't live in London, but you can call and order 'em by phone. Yay for advancements in telecommunications! Their house brand is a self-described hybrid of Gwen Stefani meets Dita Von Teese. As long as they take only the best of those two, and not the shameful worsts, I'll gladly holla back at such adorbs shoes. Har.

($90, Alex+Chloe, the aptly named Icovetthis.com)
Having been both a blonde and a brunette (and a redhead and also a raven-haired lady), I can honestly say that brunettes DO have more fun. AND bigger boobs. That said, I really want this necklace. Someone buy it for me, or I'll have to get pissy.

($194, Petro Zillia, CoutureCandy)
I know this isn't very fall-esque, but if you don't think this is just the cutest thing this side of the moon, well then fie on you. I searched for that mofo on ebay and found and got this instead for the low, low price of $25. Yay me!

($76, 525 America, Shopblushboutique.com)
Onto sweaters... This striped boyfriend sweater completely makes me go "Woo! Fall!" I like that it's grey and not predictable black and white, though I do like B&W too.

And look!
It's unpredictably V-backed, so you can totes wear it either way. It's like having two sweaters in one! And basic math tells us that two of anything is better than one, except for cold sores. Yuk!

($425, Loeffler Randall, Barefoottess.com)
Shoetime! Q: Could Loeffler Randall shoes be any more scrumptious? A: Heckynaw! They're like the thinking woman's Jimmy Choos. (Oh yes I did.)

($520, Jean Paul Gaultier, eLuxury)
Um, hi. They fit the ENTIRE Eiffel Tower up in there! The same person who's gonna get me that Brunette necklace should just pop for this while they're at it. $520 is a tad outta my price range (hell, $20 is outta my price range at the moment), but I WILL find a similar piece of about 1/750th of the price. Just you wait.

($770, Jean Paul Gaultier, eLuxury)
While filling up your hypothetical shopping cart with Gaultier, toss in this dreamy Deco dress too. I know I would. Also, the model in that photo, does she or does she not resemble TV's Finola Hughes?

($270, Manning Cartell, mycatwalk.com)
Finally, as you probably know, squirrels are basically the new owls. You heard it here. So I'd be remiss not to own this nutty little number. Swoon. I probably never will.

Ok. Eight is enough. I go and leave you with this...

Wait. I lied...

I believe I've shared my <3 for AKA New York, and if I haven't, then I will now.
($350, AKA New York, activenendeavors.com)

($350, AKA New York, activenendeavors.com)
Nevermind the fact that that model looks like the sluttier Bush twin. I really love this dress. Especially the shirt dress, which looks even better with boots, as opposed to the prego look smock dresses with boots can sometimes create. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The latter is even fall-i-er looking. Loves.

Ok. I go and leave you with this:

Binge away!

Make-up Gisele Bundchen's

They say Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen was discovered by talent scouts at the tender age of fourteens while chowing down on burgers at McDonald's. By 2006, Forbes had named her the highest-paid model in the business! Fresh and animated, with light blue eyes, tawny skin and lithe, sinuous curves, she's - a modern-day enchantress. Here she is in a palette of bronze, sand and muted peach. Makeup artist D.Grayson tells us how to get her breezy, beachy look.
Step 1
Start with a clean, lightly moisturized face; allow the moisturizer to seep in for a few minutes before applying make-up.
Step 2
Using a damp sponge, apply a fine film of creamy , but not oily, stick foundation to any ruddy or blemished areas of the face, neck and shoulders.
Step 3
With your fingertips, dot a tiny bit of the same cream foundation onto the area just under the eyes, to hide any darkness or shadows you might have; blend in soft patting motions.
Step 4
Dip a flat, fan-shaped contour brush into loose flesh-toned translucent powder. Shake off any excess and apply the powder lightly to the cheeks. The powder will set a base for the contour, which you'll apply in the next step.
Step 5
With the same fan-shaped contour brush, place a sandy, bronze blush to the apples of the cheeks, moving back toward the ears.
Step 6
In the same direction you applied the blush, repeat step 4, to "evenly distribute and diffuse your sandy bronze blush, creating a subtle circle of color," says D. Grayson.
Step 7
Next, define the brows using an angled, hard-bristled liner brush dipped in blonde brow powder. If you don't have a marked arch like Gisele's Bundchen and you'd like to create one, you might try experimenting with an eyebrow kit that contains stencils.
Step 8
Outline the eyes using a pointed eyeliner brush and coffee-brown cream opaque liner. To emulate G.Bundchen subdued look, trace a fine across the upper lash line, staying as close to the lashes as you can manage.
Step 9
With the same pointed brush and what remains of the coffee-brown liner, apply it to the bottom third of the lower lash line; for a really subtle line, you don't need to re-dip your brush.
Step 10
Use an oval-shaped eye shadow brush to place a crescent of russet brown shadow just at the outer edge of the eyelids.
Step 11
Next, use a cotton swab to apply an iridescent, pearly powder eye shadow just above the creases of each eye; blend back and forth in soft motions, allowing the powder to subtly disperse for a soft halolike effect.
Step 12
Enclose two layers average brown flourishes.
Step 13
Fill the entire lips with a fleshy nude liner pencil.
Step 14
Use a lip brush to apply a shiny, translucent peach-tinted gloss.

Atlantic Fashion Antics!

This past weekend I took advantage of the gorgeous Indian summer weather and headed out to the Atlantic Antic, which is like the granddaddy of street festivals in New York (probably not the world). In addition to the masses of tasty treats available from the restaurants on Atlantic Avenue, the live bands, the demonstrations of martial arts and dance and workout moves, there was no shortage of fashion. I'm afraid my camera ran out of batteries and I didn't get to photograph enough of the wares, but there were a ton of beautiful African fabrics in booth after booth, and a smattering of indie-white-girl wares. I actually bought a quilted blue reversible miniskirt for the low, low price of $25 from just such a white girl. This is it:

It's by Fofolle, which is French for "wacky girl." Her very cool skirts can be found at Flirt in Carroll Gardens and Neda in Park Slope (Brooklyn, baby!). On the site I discovered I got my quilted skirt at a huge discount, since it usually costs $80. Woooh!

Here are some cool drapey dresses that I imagine were made by another of the species:

I also did a little street photojournalism, if you will. Here are some of my favorites:

The pic ain't the greatest, but these ladies were a vision of vibrant color.

Whoa.

Why is this little boy dressed in a prison jumpsuit, I wonder? Perhaps he is making his getaway...

Not that there's anything wrong with dressing in head-to-toe orange. This chica is making a fine case for it in her floor-grazing orange jersey number. People were talking about her. I bet she was so psyched to be able to wear it again. Can I get a hell yeah for hot weather? My vote for best-dressed.

Runner-up is this girl rocking the gray stirrup leggings. I haven't really seen these much. Good work, girl! Let's get a closer look, shall we?

Finally, I wanted to mention the awesome T-shirt company Campfire, out of my birth state of Ohio, who had a table covered in cute T-shirts. I had to walk away to ensure that I didn't accidentally buy several. They have a whole series of state tees, which would have been a boon back when I attempted to collect a shirt for every state. They also have a series of city tees.

This one makes me wish I'd popped out in Akron instead of Toledo, but what can you do?

Lucky New Jersey even gets its own shirt, in addition to the one for the state series (which is frankly kind of disappointing). How cute is that? A definite improvement on this pukey aqua blue and hot-pink shirt I wore out as a tween that said "Jersey girls, best in the world." I loved that T-shirt.

There is no shortage of humorous T-shirts, some with irony.

Shirts for design nerds....

...and shirts for grammar nerds! Sweet, huh?

And that's all the news that's fit to post. Long live Brooklyn, Ohio, and the world!

Meet Matthew Williamson - The Fashion Genius

I know I'm a bit behind, but I just got to have a look at Matthew Williamson's Spring/Summer 2007 collection yesterday! I know, I know...it's a bit late, but better later than never (or something like that ;p)

I am a great Matthew Willamson fan from before, and I have to say that that hasn't change one little bit. After seeing these photos, I think I love him even more!

The thing that I have always liked with Matthew's clothes, is that they are always so feminine and they are so vibrant and "full of life". I just look at them, and I feel so drawn to me...they speak to me...hehe;p

It was extremely hard to only choose a few outfits from the collection as my favourites, because there were so, so many, but here are my ABSOLUTE favourites (though I loved all of his outfits, and they are all my favourites!!)

Gorgeous shorts, gorgeous top, gorgeous coat, gorgeous sunglasses, gorgeous shoes, gorgeous everything!

Leggings are here to stay, people! I love them with this pretty thing of a dress. The black gives it a hint of mystery, but the beautiful, shimmery pattern makes it fun and oh, so special. The shoes are wonderful, by the way.

The one thing I can say about this dress, is "WOW!" I am in love with this dress; the cut, the pattern, the colour...the whole thing is fabulous, dahlin'!

This dress is very chic and elegant. It could be used as a relaxed evening dress, or it could be used when you're doing a bit of shopping before heading straight to a friend's summer garden party. Oh, all the visions I get just looking at this dress!

Again this colour...it's one of the most beautiful colours I have ever laid my eyes on. This is such a city chic outfit, and I'll definitely be strolling down the street next summer with something inspired by this :)

Okay, I can't explain why, but I think these silver tights are amazing. I wouldn't wear them myself though, but they look fantastic with this classy, "flower power" tunic.

Such a sweet outfit! I'm in love!

Gorgeous dress! Very sophisticated, and very fashion editor-ish! The colours are great, and it's, just like the whole of Matthew Williamson's S/S 07 collection, created by a fashion genius!

DKNY - HOT OR NOT?

After a request from my fellow blogger and friend (;)), Frapp, I've decided to do a post on the DKNY collection. To be honest, I have never really been a great fan of DKNY's clothes, but when I sat down to look through the runway photos, I have to say that I was positivly surprised. A lot of the womens' range is actually very classy, in a way, and very street chic. When it comes to mens' line...well, I wish I was a boy, to put it like that! I just love it! It's as simple as that.

Hope you'll like these outfits I have chosen, and by the way...check out Frapps' bloggs, "Frapp Fashion" and "What's haute". They are well worth a visit! You'll find them in the link section ;)

I have to start off with this absolutely gorgeous trenchcoat! The colour and the shape are perfect. I am definiteley going to get myself something similar to this, because this is such a "WOW!" trench! Perfect for the autumn.

Okay, I mentioned earlier that the clothes for men were amazing. Look at this...I know it's simple, but that's the whole charm of it! It just oozes classiness and sophistication.

The DKNY collection have a lot of these pretty, girly dresses. They have them in many lengths and colours, but I prefer this one! I've got a thing for black and yellow teamed together (though I never wear those two colours together...I would look like a bumblebee!), and this is the perfect dress for girls who are fun and a bit quirky!

This is what a true rock n' roll guy should look like! And that's that!

Many of DKNY's outfits were teamed with a bag like you see in the picture above. I am not a great fan of them, but what I am a fan of is that gorgeous grey jacket. The skirt is cute, and I love the colour of the top and the way it's used with the grey.

Love it, love it, love it! I can't explain what it is, but it must be that subtle ooze of something again. Maybe they should get rid of that cap, maybe not?! Maybe the outfit becomes too boring without it?

Here is another one of those cute and girly dresses I was talking about. The pink goes extremely well with the purple, and with the headband and the make-up it gives us the impression of a sweet, innocent little girl...but who also has a little wild side ;)

One of my absolute favourite outfits for men from the collection. This outfit is awesome! It is so laidback and chill, and it's simply an outfit that draws attention, in a subtle and cool way.

Oh, my gosh! This dress is adorable. I want one so badly, and I want it now! ;)

First I thought that the DKNY collection was a not for me, but not went quickly to hot!
